Crawler
The Crawler is a pursuing monster that spawns at a distance behind the player and continuously moves forward. When the player turns around and the Crawler is within spotting distance, it stops and stares for 3 seconds. After this stare period, if the player is still looking, the Crawler retreats back to a safe distance. However, if the player looks away, the Crawler continues its pursuit. If it gets too close (within 3.5 units), the player dies.
Stare
The Stare monster appears at a fixed distance beside the target. When the target turns to look at it, a 0.7-second countdown begins. If the target maintains eye contact for the full duration, they die instantly. However, if the target looks away in time, the Stare has a random chance to flip to the opposite side and attempt another attack.
Peeky
Peeky operates on an attention meter system starting at 100%. When the target doesn't watch Peeky, the attention decreases at a steady rate. When the target watching peeky, it slowly regenerates. If the attention reaches zero, the target dies. Peeky appears for a limited duration before automatically disapearing, creating time pressure for the target to manage their attention carefully.
Sneaky
Sneaky approaches from behind the player, slowly moving closer. When the player turns around, Sneaky freezes in place. If the player maintains eye contact with Sneaky when it's close enough (within 3.6 units) for 3 seconds, Sneaky enters a "retreat" state and escapes. However, if the player looks away while Sneaky is too close (within 0.9 units), the player dies.
Combined Peeky & Sneaky Attack
When both Peeky and Sneaky are active simultaneously, their mechanics become interlinked in a deadly coordination. Peeky's attention meter decreases much slower (reduced to about 1/3.5 of normal speed) when the player looks at it while Sneaky is present. Additionally, Peeky won't automatically despawn after its duration timer if Sneaky is still active. Most critically, Peeky's attention meter will not regenerate at all when the player looks away while Sneaky is present - it remains frozen at whatever value it was when the player stopped looking. This forces players into an impossible situation: they must watch Peeky to prevent the attention meter from depleting, but they also need to monitor Sneaky's approach from behind. The player must carefully manage both threats, potentially using quick glances to check Sneaky's position while primarily focusing on Peeky, creating intense psychological pressure and requiring precise timing to survive both encounters.
